Convention 2016

Convention 2016 "Students with Exceptionalities"

Convention will be in Meadow Lake at Carpenter High School on Aug. 29th & 30th
Darci Lang will kick off convention with a motivational message to help us focus on the positive.  We will be altogether for her keynote on Monday morning.  
In the afternoon, teachers will have their choice between 3 breakouts:
  • one with Jennifer Dorval & Jennifer Williamson who will be speaking on Executive Functioning Skills & Differentiated Instruction; 
  • one with Allan Kehler, who speaks about his history with addictions and mental health; 
  • and Jeff Noble, an expert in FASD.  
Gordon Porter, head of Inclusive Education Canada, will present a keynote for all teachers, followed by some staff time and guiding questions.  
In the afternoon of Tuesday, there will be a few breakouts for teachers to choose from.  Some of the topics we have speakers to cover are:
  • Autism, 
  • ODD, 
  • Anxiety, 
  • Effective Use of EAs, 
  • EAL, 
  • and classroom management.
